I like to plan. God laughs at plans. This is a window into God's sense of humor.

"George Washington" was just too difficult to say.

A Toddler in Church
I didn't really think Samantha's cute little voice was so loud...until we went to daily mass.
I didn't realize my daughter had her own echo...until I tried hushing it after communion.
Nor did I really give any credence to the adage "Catholic Aerobics"...until my daughter started to "narrate".
I never thought I'd regret teaching my child her colors...until we sat next to the stained glass windows.
And I never thought my child could whisper...until I asked her to say "Bye" to someone after church:
"HI!"
"Shhh..." (whispered)
"PAPA."
"Shh...yes, that's papa, do you want to go see papa?"
"PAPA!! CHEW?"
"Shhh..." (whispered)
"PAPA."
"Shh...yes, that's papa, do you want to go see papa?"
"PAPA!! CHEW?"

"SWEATER. SWEATER. SWEATER."
"Shhhh....yes, he's wearing a sweater- shhh."
"HUNGRY? HUNGRY? HUNGRY?
"Shhh...do you want a snack?"
"SNACK. SNACK. SSSSSSNACK."
"Shhhh....yes, he's wearing a sweater- shhh."
"HUNGRY? HUNGRY? HUNGRY?
"Shhh...do you want a snack?"
"SNACK. SNACK. SSSSSSNACK."
Nor did I really give any credence to the adage "Catholic Aerobics"...until my daughter started to "narrate".
"SIT. SIT. SIT."
"STAN. STAN. STAN."
"SIT. SIT. SIT."
"DOWN. DOWN. DOWN."
"STAN. STAN. STAN."
"STAN. STAN. STAN."
"SIT. SIT. SIT."
"DOWN. DOWN. DOWN."
"STAN. STAN. STAN."
I never thought I'd regret teaching my child her colors...until we sat next to the stained glass windows.
"BUE."
"Yes, that's blue"
"Reh"
"Yes, that's red"
"BUE."
"Shhh...Samantha, we have to be quiet."
"NO MOMMY. BUE. BUE. BUE."
"Yes, that's blue"
"Reh"
"Yes, that's red"
"BUE."
"Shhh...Samantha, we have to be quiet."
"NO MOMMY. BUE. BUE. BUE."

Preschool...*sniff*
This coming fall we'll most likely be sending Samantha to preschool when I go back to work (looking at Montessori-opinions welcome!).
About a month ago I realized my baby will not only be thrilled....

A- You're Adorable, B You're So Beautiful
So I was giving Sam a bath at my parents' place and threw Sam's foam letters in the tub with her (I'd forgotten I'd left some there).
And this is what I discovered my child can do.
(And I really don't know where she learned it)
Suggestions on what to do with her?

Waiting for Baby
We've been in Ohio, waiting for this baby to arrive
They even gave us an extra day with all the snow.
But, alas, our plans are not in The Plan, and we'll be saying goodbye tomorrow, sans baby.
And make this one a big sister
Unfortunately, God and him have a little joke going.
They even gave us an extra day with all the snow.
But, alas, our plans are not in The Plan, and we'll be saying goodbye tomorrow, sans baby.
