Numero 3

Well, the battle of the names has begun.  We have tons of boy names lined up but can't seem to agree on girl ones.  Oh well!  We have a list, but both of us are pretty stubborn as to budging from our favorites.
In the meantime, here's the bump at 21 weeks and a few ultrasound pictures!

She started sucking her thumb at one point- gah it was so cute!

Darn uploader keeps rotating this picture...but it's my favorite!

the ultrasound tech (Claire) was amazing and so so kind.  She makes us feel as if we have the cutest and most precious baby she's ever seen.  She printed off almost 4 feet of pictures for us!

We can wait to kiss those cheeks!

Countertop Part 2

Well, she can climb up herself now...and makes my heart skip a beat every time she gets a bit too wiggly....

Doing her homework with Sam...asked me what "7+2" was about 87 times.

Don't let that grin of her's fool you...this is the "usual" look we get these days:

She was quite the beast over Christmas break.  She's taking the terrible two's veeeeeeeeeery seriously.

Swimming!

Long story short, we decided to invest in the most expensive swim lessons again...in prep for a membership at the YMCA (Sam is soooooo excited!)....which is in prep for a summer with a newborn and two children who HAVE to get out of the house every.single.day.  Sam floored me by swimming the length of the pool on her first lesson!!  Charlotte couldn't figure out why the other two kids were screaming and had a blast practicing her "scoops" with her teacher.  They can't WAIT for week two!

Happy Birthday!

Jeremy turned 34...wow.  He's in his MID 30's.  Which means I'll be there soon.  How is that possible?
I was thisclose to getting him a gift he wasn't expecting.  He'd asked to get these "for the girls" for Christmas...but Sam made a finger motion the morning before he opened them so he knew what they were.

It was a few days late, but I managed to finish his requested Dr. Who scarf as well.

Wow, ok, so I finally have an evening where I don't have someone sick, have grading or an urgent knitting project to finish up.  So here come the backdated posts!

Sick

Well, I was all proud of a healthy winter semester (just MAYBE hoping for some sick-days to rollover one of these years!) and then Christmas break happened.  It's a catch-22.  I'm glad I'm not working and can stay home without any distractions of e-mails and sub plans, but I'm also having to accept that I'm not going to get all the things done that I'd hoped to accomplish (those bathrooms that get cleaned 4 times a year?  Well, in 2015 it was 3.)  PLUS there's the whole returning to work feeling just as fried as I felt when I'd left it 2 weeks prior.  Just to recap:

1)  Charlotte had 5th disease at the beginning of December.

2)  Christmas Eve morning Sam started throw up and by 2 was so dehydrated (remember, she's TINY) we took her to the ER.  She just needed some fluids.  But she thought it was a GREAT day.  Presents from the ER nurses, juice, crackers, unlimited TV- she loooooooves the hospital.

I somehow managed to make Lucy's gift in 3 evenings...even worked on it in the ER.

It was late, but I finally finished this girl's doll as well!

3)  New Years Eve Charlotte got the stomach bug, but she's got a lot more in reserve, so she did fine- just took her a little longer to recover.
GLUED to mommy

4)  I got the bug the day before school started and had to take another day off to recover.

5)  The next day we took Charlotte in for a persistent and gross rash AND the fact that she wouldn't use her right arm after playing with her one night.  She had strep of the butt (yeah, I know) and nurse maid's elbow (ie dislocated elbow).

Sam took a swig of my waterbottle the day I was puking and it seems to have a week incubation period...if we can make it through Wednesday with no more puking, I think it will be safe to say we're finally past it!  Jeremy thinks he had it at one point, but his body responds to the stomach flu differently, since he doesn't have a large intestine...seriously, our family is just FULL of fun medical experiences!  Iliostomy! Child Migraines!  ADHD! 5th Disease!  Strep Butt!  Nursemaid's elbow! Corn Allergy!

Here's hoping to a healthy 3rd child!!
